Our Second Kiva Diva: Diloramhan in Kyrgyzstan (May 2014)

Our Second Kiva Diva - Diloramhan in Krygyzstan - May 2014

Kiva is a crowd-funding site supporting entrepreneurs in developing countries. Through the Estrogen Army project we will be investing in women who would otherwise have a difficult time accessing traditional loans to fund their own adventures.

Today we celebrate our second “Adventures with the Estrogen Army” loan, investing in Kiva entrepreneur, Diloramhan, a 67 year old widow in Aravan village, Kyrgyzstan.

This month we are investing in “Diloramhan”.

Diloramhan is 67 years old, a widow. She struggled for a long time to get over the death of her husband, but with five children to raise, she worked to build a business around milk cows and a few small crops. She has been raising cattle for more than 30 years, and currently has 5 milk cows on her farm. She also has a 0.38 hectare plot of land on which she primarily grows potatoes and corn.

Today we are helping her buy more cows to raise and breed, expanding her business so that she can build a new house and improve her living standards.

She still needs a little more help: http://kiva.org/lend/693596
