Ever dreamed of running an historic east coast Bed & Breakfast Inn in Maine? Now’s your chance to do it for US$125 and 200 words!
Janice Sage won the now 210-year-old inn in 1993 by writing an essay, and now she’s giving the same chance to others as she gets ready to retire:
The essay shall address the subject/theme: Why I would like to own and operate a Country Inn.
Whether you’re a polished author, or just someone who is passionate about the chance to make this rustic retreat their own, it’s an interesting opportunity to reboot in act two!
Entries must be postmarked on or before May 7, 2015 and must arrive at the Center Lovell Post Office by May 17, 2015.
Win the Center Lovell Inn!
Have you ever dreamed of owning a Country Inn and restaurant in New England? Well, here is your chance! Located in southwestern Maine overlooking the White Mountains is The Center Lovell Inn and Restaurant. In 1993, the former owner ran an essay contest and I was the winner. After 22 successful years, it is time for me to retire. Now, I would like to fulfill someone else’s dream.
The Inn was built in 1805, the barn in 1795, and the adjacent guest house in 1985. There are 7 guest units, two dining rooms, and a screened-in wrap-around porch overlooking the mountains, all on 12+- acres.
This area attracts guests from around the world for biking, hiking, skiing and all kinds of boating on beautiful Kezar Lake (across the street) and the many other lakes in this “Lake District” of Maine. Visit http://www.centerlovellinn.com for more details on the Inn and area.
You can’t win if you don’t enter. Don’t delay, enter today! Good luck.

Built in 1805 The Center Lovell Inn & Restaurant represents a true New England bed & breakfast and country inn. It’s located three and one-half hours from Boston and one hour and fifteen minutes from Portland, Maine. It’s situated in the heart of the Lake District of Maine, within minutes of gorgeous hiking trails and country roads that offer wonderful places for the avid biker. The Inn is located across the street from Kezar Lake, deemed one of the “most beautiful glacier lakes in the world” by National Geographic Magazine.
The forty-seat dining room offers a crackling fire on cold winter nights. In the summer, enjoy breakfast and dinner on the screened-in wrap-around porch. In the evening enjoy the sunset over the White Mountains.
The inn and its restaurant have been featured in: Downeast; Martha Stewart Living; The Boston Globe; Yankee; Everyday Rachael Ray and named “Best Country Inn Dinner” by New England Travel.
(I’m thinking that would make one bodacious Adventure Diva retreat, no?)
Good luck, Adventure Divas!
